My journey started many years ago, I had always wanted breast augmentation. Finding the right hospital and consultant was difficult, I couldn’t find anyone I could 100% trust, and after many years of searching I’d given up. However, after starting work at The Alexandra, and looking after patients who had this procedure, I began to realise I was looking in the wrong places. I had looked after many of Mr Winterton’s patients and the results were incredible. From seeing his amazing work first hand I decided to email Vicky his secretary to enquire.
Vicky kindly emailed back with allot of valuable information which prompted me to go ahead and book a consultation for the week later. In my first consultation I explained to Mr Winterton what I wanted and whether this was possible. Mr Winterton took time to explain everything to me and was extremely compassionate in explaining the outcomes and what to expect. I was also given education on the procedure, recovery, and results which was a huge comfort. As someone who struggles with anxiety I can honestly say Mr Winterton and his team were caring, compassionate and extremely professional, making me feel at ease the minute I walked in. I knew this was the consultant I 100% trusted with this procedure.
It didn’t take me long to make the decision to go ahead, in fact I think I had confirmed the procedure within a couple of hours. A couple of days after the first consultation I had received a letter from Mr Winterton which contained all of the information provided in the consultation itself. This gave me the opportunity to read back everything we had spoken about and also write any questions down that I may have for the second consultation. The second consultation was around a week or two later, which gave me the perfect opportunity to get any questions answered that I may of thought off (I honestly had no questions, Mr Winterton had left nothing unturned in the previous consultation) this in itself was worth its weight in gold I was confident I had chosen the right consultant.
Then came procedure day, I was full of anxiety, however the anaesthetist came in and talked me through everything that was going to happen before, during, and after the surgery. I felt at ease he was extremely caring and professional which meant my anxiety was now non-existent. Once Mr Winterton had come in and done his checks I was ready to go, no anxiety present just excitement, that I was finally having this procedure done with the right consultant and team. I walked to theatre, and again felt at ease and relaxed which is all thanks to the team involved.
My recovery was extremely quick, quicker than I imagined. The procedure went smoothly I honestly could not of asked for anything more! Once I arrived back onto the ward I had already received an email of Vicky with a post-operative leaflet which explained everything I needed to know to help recovery. Honestly this team went above and beyond, I went home educated and in mild pain. After the one week follow up appointment where my dressings were removed, I was back to my baseline, I had no pain and couldn’t stop smiling at the work Mr Winterton had done, my results are absolutely perfect. Mr Winterton has given me my confidence back and I cannot thank him enough. I would highly recommend Mr Winterton and his team to anyone who wants procedures in the future.
