Rob’s NHS practice is covers paediatric and adult hand surgery, alongside major abdominal wall and hernia reconstruction and perineal reconstruction. Rob has been heavily involved in medical education since 2009, as has recently completed the re-writing of the Plastic Surgery Higher Training Curriculum in his role as Curriculum Lead for Plastic Surgery on the National Training Committee. He has also been Chair of the North West Plastic Surgery Training Committee and been a member of the National Special Advisory Committee for Plastic Surgery since 2014. He was Lead Clinician for Plastic Surgery in Manchester between 2018-2021 during the Covid pandemic, and maintains a major commitment to Plastic Surgery emergencies in the North West.
He is a fully certified in Cosmetic Surgery and non-surgical cosmetic procedures according to the Cosmetic Surgery Certification Scheme organised by the Intercollegiate Cosmetic Surgery Oversight Committee. He undertakes all cosmetic surgery procedures except rhinoplasty and has a particularly busy practice in body recontouring where he has a reputation for dealing with complex cases. He frequently treats patients after massive weight loss, and undertakes functional abdominoplasty where the muscle repair is complex or associated with hernias.
Away from work, Rob lives with his wife, two children, and two dogs, and enjoys golf and boating whenever he has the opportunity!
